Tambo International Airport, the largest and busiest airport in Africa, is undoubtedly the world’s gateway to South Africa and your first taste of Johannesburg’s vibrant energy lies just outside its borders. Once travellers have beaten back the jetlag, getting around for business or pleasure a cinch. Both Pretoria and the buzzing heart of Johannesburg are only about half-an-hour’s drive away from the airport. The swift and nifty Gautrain, Johannesburg’s rapid-transit rail system, is an equally top-notch transport option and can get you from O.R. Tambo to the city’s affluent Sandton suburb in only 15 minutes.
