Kristy is the sort of person who doesn’t do safari by halves. She never skips a game drive, happily nerds out over birds and plants when the big sightings are scarce, and can produce a collective noun for almost any animal on cue. A crash of rhinos? Easy. A flamboyance of flamingos? Obviously. An embarrassment of pandas? She still thinks that one is unnecessarily harsh. Her relationship with Rhino Africa goes back almost as far as the company itself. Long before she joined the Crash, she was the dedicated flights consultant helping a much smaller Rhino Africa with its air bookings. Somewhere along the way came lifelong friendships, a husband, and eventually a desk on the inside. With guests, Kristy likes to get on the phone early. Email can tell her what you want; a conversation tells her what lights you up. From there, she’s all about the details, the excitement of that first proposal, and creating a trip that leaves you wanting another one. At home, life is just as full: two kids, three pets, restaurant-hopping Alphabet Date Nights, reality TV, the colour pink and a long-standing devotion to Patrick Swayze. Subtle? Not especially. Memorable? Very.
