Janine grew up with road trips in her DNA. Family adventures around Africa came first; these days, she and her husband are still happiest with the car packed, the dogs along for the ride and somewhere new at the end of the road. A long weekend on the Garden Route works. So does a month of camping further north. If the road gets quieter and the map a little less obvious, even better.
She has a soft spot for the places that sit just outside the obvious route, the ones that reward a little curiosity. So when you start planning with Janine, she’ll listen for what you actually want from the trip, then build around that rather than defaulting to whatever everyone else is doing. Her own advice is simple: follow the quieter road. Africa has a habit of rewarding it.
There’s another side to Janine too: she's a self-confessed foodie who loves long lunches that turn into dinners, but on safari she’s also the one documenting everything. Pangolin? Photographed. Leopard with cubs? Photographed. Wild dogs mid-hunt? Almost certainly photographed. Her Bush IQ party trick is basically receipts.
