Zambezi Expeditions is a seasonal safari camp in Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the banks of the Zambezi River. Open from April to November, the camp offers direct access to the floodplains and riverine forests that make Mana Pools one of the most rewarding wildlife destinations in the world. Its location means you enjoy regular, close-up encounters with elephants, buffalo, hippos and predators, often right from the camp’s decks.
Nature- and adventure-lovers will fit in naturally here, with days spent immersing yourself in Mana Pools’ extraordinary wildlife: canoeing safaris along the Zambezi, tracking animals on foot, catch-and-release fishing and traditional game drives across the floodplains. It’s one of the best places in Africa to see African wild dogs – and the thrill of encountering them on foot makes this experience unforgettable. Birding is excellent too, with seasonal migrations adding colour and song to the wilderness.
Life at the camp is relaxed and down-to-earth. The intimate Meru-style luxury tents line the riverside, each featuring en-suite safari-style rain showers, king-size beds and mesh windows to keep you connected to nature. A central lounge and dining area invite you to cool off with a plunge pool and fully stocked bar, while the fire circle allows for swapping stories under the stars. Powered by solar energy, Zambezi Expeditions offers an intimate and eco-conscious experience, with children aged 12 years and over welcome to join.
