Singita Kataza House gives you the privacy of your own Rwandan mountain home beside Volcanoes National Park, with gorilla trekking within easy reach and views towards Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura. This exclusive-use villa is made for families or friends who want the freedom to set their own pace without stepping away from Singita’s attentive care. The villa maintains a strong connection to Rwanda’s landscape and culture through the use of local materials, including river stone and clay bricks made by surrounding communities.
Set out for gorilla trekking, golden monkey encounters, forest walks, birdwatching, cycling, yoga or community visits, then return to a villa that feels ready for whatever you need next. Your private chef and host curate your experience, from farm-to-table meals with produce from the Akarabo Garden to relaxed fireside evenings, wine from the cellar or a film in the cinema room. Children of all ages are welcome at Kataza House, although Rwanda’s national park regulations allow gorilla trekking only from age 15.
The villa sleeps eight across four bedrooms, with open-plan living and dining areas, an interactive kitchen, fitness centre and massage treatment room giving everyone room to spread out. Indoor baths, indoor and outdoor showers, two heated pools and indoor-outdoor fireplaces bring comfort after time on the trails. Woven panels, handmade tiles, clay feature pots and layered natural textures add warmth to the contemporary interiors, while broad timber-framed windows draw in the surrounding lush meadows and volcanic scenery.
