Shamwari Explorer Camp

Those born with an adventurous spirit and a love for the great outdoors will be enthralled by Shamwari’s Explorer Camp which takes guest on a two to three day adventure in their 25,000ha Big 5 Game Reserve. Expect to sleep in tents around the fire, a lullaby from the wild sending you to sleep, and spend your day trekking on foot through the wilderness, trailing after lion prides and rhinos.

A journey with the Explorer Camp takes guests on an authentic safari experience. If luxury lodges and Wi-Fi access are necessities in your life – this is not the place for you. The camp is perched on top of a plateau, featuring a viewing deck that offers magnificent views of the reserve below. 

There are three tents at the Explorer Camp sleeping two people each. Each tent is furnished with two fold-out stretchers with duvets and pillows, a cupboard, an LED light, an outside hand basin, a hammock, and amenities such as insect repellent, towels, tissues, shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper, and sanitary bags.
