Situated on the Talek River at a busy wildebeest crossing, a safari at Rekero Camp places you in the heart of the Maasai Mara. Its prime location means wildlife viewing often starts right at camp and you could watch thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross in front of you during the Great Migration season. Despite the action, the camp’s atmosphere remains peaceful. Enjoy your morning coffee and sundowners under shady riverine trees, as hippos wade in the water nearby.
From July to October, witness hundreds of thousands of wildebeest crossing the Talek River right in front of you. With expert guides and superb year-round Big 5 viewing, you’ll see large herds of elephants, lions, cheetah, serval, hyena and giraffes, even when it’s not migration season. The camp operates on solar power and adheres to a strong conservation ethos. Add a dawn hot-air balloon safari or a bush picnic to your itinerary and enjoy the warm Maasai hospitality.
Elegant, spacious and light-filled canvas tents line the river, each featuring an en-suite bathroom (complete with a hot shower and flush toilet) as well as complimentary laundry service. A relaxed lounge, dining tent and main deck host home-cooked meals and conversations under the stars. Families with children five years and older are welcome.
