Little Garonga Safari Camp

Lying to the west of the Kruger National Park is a pioneering force in South African ecotourism: Makalali Private Game Reserve is spread across 25,000ha and provides sanctuary for some of the country’s most well-known inhabitants, including the Big 5. With only three romantic and rustic Chalets at Little Garonga Safari Camp, guests will be able to explore the reserve with little interruption. 

Tranquility abounds in this reserve where the only calls you’ll take are those of the wild. Directly translating to "place of rest", that is precisely what travellers come to Makalali to do, whether enjoying extensive wilderness walks, game drives, sleepouts beneath the stars, or massage and reflexology sessions in the Sala. 

Little Garonga’s three Suites are located around the main lodge, which features dining areas, lounging areas and a swimming pool. The Hambleden is ideal for small families with its two bedrooms, luxurious en-suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor lounge, private swimming pool, minibar and raised deck. Meanwhile, the Chiltern and the Buckingham is ideal for couples and also boasts a full en-suite and outdoor shower.
