Tucked deep inside Mana Pools National Park, Kanga Expeditions overlooks the Kanga Pan – a year-round water source where wildlife gathers from sunrise to after dark. Settle on the deck and enjoy the camp’s celebrated “armchair safari” as animals arrive to drink right in front of the camp. It’s one of those rare places where simply staying put feels like an experience in itself.
Immersive safari activities include morning and afternoon game drives. You can also embark on interpretive walking safaris, enjoy seasonal birding and pass time in the photographic hide for a low-angle view of the wildlife action. Set within a private concession, sightings are unhurried and blissfully quiet. When you’re not out exploring, the mahogany tree-shaded upper deck and the swimming pool make for peaceful lookouts over the waterhole, teeming with animals in the dry season.
The luxurious canvas suites are elegant but unfussy, with fans, private decks, a dressing area and en-suite outdoor bathrooms. Children aged 12 and over are welcome and there’s a dedicated family tent with a wraparound verandah with views of the pan. The honeymoon tent features a secluded deck with a rolltop bath – perfect for a romantic, starlit soak.
