Dugong Lodge

Situated in the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary – right on the southern Mozambican coastline – Dugong Beach Lodge is a great getaway spot for water sport enthusiasts. The white beach and the warm Indian Ocean beckon guests to indulge in a holiday filled with activities such as saltwater fly-fishing, deep-sea fishing, scuba-diving, snorkelling, kayaking, ocean safaris, and more.

The surrounding wildlife sanctuary means you’ll have the chance to see beautiful sea creatures in a virtually unspoilt environment: head out to the shallow and deep-water reefs where you’ll see leatherback turtles, sailfish, and manta ray. Go looking for flamingos and pelicans while on a nature drive through the sanctuary, or pay a visit to a nearby fishing village.

The 14 Luxury Chalets have hardwood floors, en-suite bathrooms, mosquito nets, mini-bars, private patios and outside showers. Meals are served on the main deck and in the dining room daily. If you need a break from the beach, take a dip in the lodge’s pool or kick back with a movie in the lounge. Drinks can be enjoyed at the bar while the gazebo on the boardwalk jetty is ideal for sundowners.
