Clanwilliam Lodge

An oasis of tranquillity

Clanwilliam Lodge is located at the base of the majestic Cederberg Mountains, in the historic settlement of Clanwilliam, one of the ten oldest towns in the country. It is just 5km from the 18km long Clanwilliam Dam, a haven for water sports, and you can see over 200 indigenous species of wild flowers in the nearby Ramskop Nature Reserve during August and September.

Accommodation consists of 32 air-conditioned rooms, each with an en suite bathroom. There are Hikers Rooms for budget travellers, Standard Rooms, Premier Rooms as well as larger Family Rooms with 2 bedrooms. For the utmost luxury there is a Junior and Presidential Suite, with a balcony, shower and bath. Relax during the day beside the sparkling swimming pool and feast on delicious cuisine from the restaurant - a buffet breakfast is included in the package and there is an a la carte menu during the day. Pamper yourself with a massage from the treatment room and enjoy an ice-cold cocktail from the pool bar. And if you really have to work, the conference facilities can host up to 34 delegates and the adjoining courtyard is ideal for groups and events.

Clanwilliam Lodge is ideally positioned to enjoy the best the West Coast has to offer. It is just 5 minutes from Clanwilliam Dam, a popular destination for waterskiing, wake-boarding, parasailing, angling and more water sports. South Africa's famous Rooibos (Red bush) tea is grown in this area and you can sample some on a factory tour. The Cederberg mountain range looms over the town, a haven for hikers, climbers and those seeking solitude among rivers and rocks. Bushmen rock art can be viewed in the surrounds and wild flowers bloom in all their glory at the Ramskop Nature Reserve. You certainly won't get bored!
