Qambathi Mountain Lodge

Mountain magic in the Drakensberg with Qambathi

Surrounded by blooming terrain in summer and dotted by snow at times in winter, the Southern Drakensberg forms part of the Maloti-Drakensberg Park—a World Heritage Site containing a 200km-long mountainous wonderland. From the opulent comfort of Qambathi Mountain Lodge the area’s game, nature trails and ancient San Rock paintings are easily accessible.

Long revered by nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts, and pro and amateur photographers alike, the Drakensberg has drawn visitors for centuries. Its picturesque landscape is dotted by rock shelters hiding rock art dating back some 4 000 years; along with roaming zebra, hartebeest, blesbuck, and small cat species to name a few. The Kamberg Rock and Art Centre is easily reached, while Midlands Meander, with its antique shops and array of restaurants, is also nearby.

Each of the lodge’s 3 Superior Suites and 2 Luxury Suites has under-floor heating, hairdryers, a safe, full en suite bathroom, and tea/coffee-making facilities. The Superior Suites have private covered decks, hanging chairs, and mountain views, while the Luxury Suites are attached to the main building giving guests easy access to the lodge’s dining and entertainment areas.
