Xigera Safari Lodge

Xigera Safari Lodge stretches between two islands on the western edge of Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve, where floodplains, riverine forest and papyrus-lined channels bring the Okavango Delta right to your doorstep. Elephants wander past the decks, red lechwe pick their way through the wetlands, and lion and wild dog move through the surrounding wilderness. The lodge itself is every bit as distinctive, with sculptural architecture and original works by more than 80 African artists and artisans turning Xigera into a celebration of African creativity as much as the landscape around it.

Head out at dawn to follow leopard tracks across the floodplains, slip through seasonal waterways by mokoro, or set off on foot with a guide to notice the details easily missed from a vehicle. Later, switch driving for cruising in Xigera’s specialised glass-bottomed motorboat, a photographic outing or seasonal catch-and-release fishing. Between adventures, discover the lodge’s remarkable art collection, cool off in the pool, visit the gym or spa, or join the chefs for an open-fire cooking experience. And for a night entirely out of the ordinary, the Baobab Treehouse puts you beneath an open sky, with nothing between you and the nocturnal soundtrack of the Delta.

Your suite is tucked among indigenous trees, opening towards seasonal floodplains where wildlife can meander into view at any moment. Timber, bronze and hand-carved wood create a rich, tactile interior, with African art and bespoke pieces giving each space its own warmth and individuality. Slide open the doors and move between your bedroom, lounge and generous outdoor deck and shaded gazebo.
