In the Selinda Reserve of northern Botswana, Selinda Camp sits at the meeting point of open plains, woodland, and water that draws wildlife like a magnet throughout the year. Elephant sculptures line the entrance of this intimate camp, setting the tone for a safari shaped by a long relationship with these animals. A stay here is immensely intimate and considered, surrounded by one of the last pristine wildernesses left.
Mornings often begin with the low rumble of elephants moving through camp, sometimes close enough to hear them pulling at reeds along the water’s edge. Out on a game drive, the Selinda lion pride and resident African wild dog pack patrol the concession, while hippos wade in the river and leopards slip between woodland and floodplain. If the water levels allow it, you can trade wheels for water, drifting past elephants feeding on water lilies or try seasonal catch-and-release fishing along the channels. On guided walks, there are over 200 different bird species to see as you uncover the details of how this ecosystem functions.
Each suite includes a full en-suite indoor-outdoor bathroom with a deep brass bath, an indoor shower, alongside a generous private veranda with its own swimming pool. Selinda Camp welcomes families with children six years and older. There is a writing desk, air conditioning above the bed and professional cameras, lenses and binoculars available for your use, with images downloaded at departure.
