Front-row seats to Africa’s most famous wildlife extravaganza

The thing about the Great Migration—the greatest wildlife show on earth—is that you can never be quite sure when it is going to begin or pass through certain areas. With Ubuntu Migration Camp, this isn’t a problem. Small and seasonal, this camp follows the thousands-strong herds of wildebeest and ungulates as they move through the Serengeti National Park—promising unsurpassed wildlife-viewing opportunities.

Following the ancient migratory trails as they have for past millennia, wildebeest—chaperoned by large herds of zebra, gazelle, eland, and impala—make their way from the Serengeti National Park to the Maasai Mara National Reserve and back in a perennial year-long cycle. The savannah and rivers, blackened by scores of wildlife, become action-packed hunting territory as the herds encounter predators in the tall grasses and murky waters.

Modelled in traditional safari style, Ubuntu Migration Camp is run by a close-knit and personable team of locals who are personally acquainted with the land. With only 8 tents and a lounge-cum-dining area that spills out into the surrounding savannah, a stay at the camp is sure to be an intimate one.
