Etosha is undoubtedly one of Namibia’s prime wildlife attractions thanks to its game-abundant plains, impressive predator population, and the glaring Etosha pan that forms part of the Kalahari Basin. Onguma Etosha Aoba Lodge is found on the eastern side of Etosha, bordering another pan, and gives guests access to the park as well as the 34,000ha Onguma Game Reserve that it rests on.
Priding itself on being one of Namibia’s self-confessed ‘best-kept secrets’, Onguma Game Reserve shares much of the wildlife found in its famous neighbour, from over 300 different bird species to black rhino, lion, cheetah, and even leopard. Activities here range from daily game drives to bush walks while game drives into Etosha can also be taken.
Guests at Aoba Lodge can choose from their 4 Heritage Bungalows, 3 Bush Suites, 3 Explorer Bungalows, and their Honeymoon Bungalow. All have their own private terraces, minibars, air conditioners, tea/coffee-making facilities, and safes. The main lodge allows guests to enjoy its lounge, dining area, complimentary WiFi, bar, and swimming pool—all the while keeping an eye on the small waterhole nearby.
