Camp Okavango

The Delta’s classic safari camp

Botswana’s Okavango Delta is the largest of its kind in the world, growing and shrinking exponentially with the changing of seasons and its inhabitants forever coming and going in sync with the shifting landscape. It is in this unique and interesting setting that Camp Okavango is found. Lying on the Nxaragha Island in the ‘permanent’ section of the Delta, its position within the region means the water level stays more or less constant, providing guests with a consistently captivating experience.

The Delta plays host to a variety of exciting activities. Boating and mokoro expeditions along these endless waterways afford guests the opportunity to witness many wild creatures in their natural habitat. Possible sightings include hippo, giraffe, lion, rhino, warthog and many more species of majestic African wildlife. Over 400 bird species have been recorded in the Delta. The rare African wild dog can also be found in this region.

This exclusive camp accommodates only 24 guests in intimate Safari Tents that have been raised on platforms and stand at a distance from each other for added privacy. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom and a private viewing deck. The luxurious Okavango Suite is a stand-alone thatched cottage, perfect for a honeymoon or a romantic getaway.

  • Set in the Okavango Delta, a paradise of lakes, lagoons and interconnecting waterways
  • Incredible biodiversity, from fascinating mammals and birdlife to the rarest species of fish
  • The camp houses an extensive reference library for the weird and wonderful creatures you will encounter on boat excursions and walking safaris
