Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park is desirable for a reason: abundant wildlife and low visitor numbers. It is in a remote corner of the reserve that Dulini Anabezi looks out over floodplains and channels, wildlife quietly roaming along the water’s edge. Raised boardwalks wind through the Winterthorn forest, opening onto wide river views. From the decks and pools, it’s common to spot elephants, buffalo and sometimes even lions, along the shoreline.
Explore the national park’s plains and iconic Winterthorn forest on day and night game drives, spotting lions and leopards, or glide past hippos, crocodiles and dense birdlife on a canoe or boat safari. Keep your eyes peeled for wild dog sightings, with a super pack of more than 40 individuals roaming the area. Guided walks immerse you in the bush, revealing tracks, birds and other smaller details up close. Fishing trips provide a quieter way to spend time on the river. Between activities, there’s space to swim, read, enjoy in-room spa treatments or simply sit back and watch the light change across the landscape.
Raised boardwalks wind through the Winterthorn forest, linking the tented suites to the main lodge areas. The suites are well spaced for privacy and designed to feel open to their surroundings, with indoor and outdoor bathrooms, Victorian bathtubs, private plunge pools and decks overlooking the river, floodplain or channel. Evenings draw guests to the main deck for sundowners and fireside moments, with the natural sounds of the Zambezi carrying through camp. Children eight years and older are warmly welcomed.
