Bakubung Bush Lodge

The crater of a long-extinct volcano cradles the Pilanesberg National Park, home to over 10,000 large mammals – including the Big 5 – and over 360 species of bird. Bakubung Game Lodge is a family-friendly safari destination only two hours from the big city lights of Johannesburg and Pretoria, making it an easy escape for the weekend and addition to a South African itinerary. 

Pilanesberg National Park is adjacent to the glittering Sun City resort. The inspiration for this bushveld oasis came from an old legend about a lost African kingdom. Home to the Palace of the Lost City and the Valley of Waves, the resort can easily be incorporated into a day trip. Activities at Bakubung include game drives, bush walks and a Junior Ranger’s Programme for kids.

Bakubung’s 76 luxury rooms consist of a Studio Room, Luxury Room and Executive Suite. All rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi and lead onto either a balcony or patio offering superb views of the park and Hippo Pool. On-site facilities include a volleyball court, swimming pool, restaurant, bar and two tennis courts.
