There are moments in life when you know you’ve arrived, like turning left as you board your flight or opening the door to one of the fifteen magnificent Singita Lebombo lodges nesting among the Euphorbia trees on the remote cliffs of the Kruger.
A deep inhalation of breath was required as I stepped into my colossally cool suite – can safaris really be this stylish? Chandeliers juxtapose a ceiling of wooden javelins, earthen colors and panoramic glass walls. And the views? Drink in the ancient Lebombo mountain range and let your eyes meander along the Sweni & Nwanetsi rivers as they disappear into the foothills. Inside or outside showers and your own private game viewing deck complete the luxurious African cabins.
Singita Lebombo and a handful of other lodges have broken the mould and set the bar for modern luxury game lodges in Africa. The wildlife here is pure – unaccustomed to man, adding a dash of adrenalin to my afternoon game drive through an area which the rangers believe has the largest concentration of animals in the Kruger National Park. After an exhilarating drive it was time to kick back with a G&T in the sumptuous main lodge before being taken through to the fire-lit boma under the stars. Dining is as essential to your Singita Lebombo experience as the Big 5. The celebrated executive chef fuses local ingredients with a contemporary international style. The food is prepared with devotion to each guest’s personal taste. Oh, and if you get bored of the Big 5, there’s also a library, gym, health spa, wine cellar and swimming pool.
Rhino Africa does not offer discounted rates for Singita. We do however offer promotional value-adds when available. Enquire with one of our expert consultants today and let’s start planning your safari holiday of a lifetime.
