Nehimba Lodge

With prime positioning overlooking a game-dotted waterhole in a private concession within Zimbabwe’s flagship wildlife sanctuary, Hwange National Park, Nehimba Lodge is a superb add-on to an itinerary leading guests between Bulawayo and mighty Victoria Falls. Named after the Nehimba Seep—the only natural water source in the park—safaris here are sure to be intensely rewarding.

A visit to Hwange will see travellers truly living with elephants, as the park is known for having a prolific number of these gentle giants within its borders—estimated to reach 40,000 in total. The Mtoa Ruins, an early 19th-century site of human occupation can also be visited, while the Nehimba Seep (once used as a source of water by bushmen) now attracts the park’s large game.

Nehimba’s main lodge and seven thatched chalets all overlook the waterhole, allowing for game-viewing directly from the lodge. Choose between Family Rooms, Double Rooms, and Twin Rooms—each equipped with tea/coffee-making facilities, an en suite bathroom, and outdoor shower. The main area boasts Wi-Fi, a swimming pool, dining room, several lounges, a bar, and viewing area.
