One of the foremost tour operators in Zambia

Norman Carr Safaris is a revered name in the safari industry, with six exclusive camps in Zambia's South Luangwa including Kapani Lodge, Luwi, Nsolo, Kakuli and Mchenja bush camps and the impressive Chinzombo Lodge.

A British conservationist working in Central and Southern Africa in the 1950s and 60s, Norman Carr was instrumental in setting up several national parks across Africa - in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Carr started Luangwa's first safari camp in 1950 in fact and it seems only right to start a safari in Zambia with one of his lodges - to honour his achievements and his pioneering conservation efforts.

Carr transformed the African safari from the hunting experience old into one of photographing wildlife rather than shooting it, leading to some of the first sustainable conservation initiatives in Africa, including local people in the management of wildlife and land. We recommend the portfolio's camps for their high standard of quality in accommodation and conservation and in the inique experience they offer guests to this wild and wonderful part of Africa.
