Day 1: Protea Hotel Entebbe, Entebbe

Arrive in Entebbe, the country’s gateway, and spend your first night on the glittering shores of Lake Victoria as you prepare to venture into Uganda’s forests. Amenities include a pool, fitness centre, restaurant, complimentary airport shuttle, babysitting services, daily housekeeping, and universally accessible rooms.

Day 2-4: Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Catch a scheduled light aircraft flight to Kisoro Airstrip and then cross Lake Mutanda on a traditional dugout canoe to the Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge where you can spend the next day gorilla tracking. Gorilla habituation is a captivation and unforgettable experience which more than repays the effort needed to reach Bwindi and to trek through the forest. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of the gentle giants of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park surely is the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer.

Day 4-6: Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Go on the walking trail through the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park towards Buhoma and the Gorilla Forest Camp. Gorilla Forest Camp is nestled deep inside Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in southwest Uganda. This camp is one of the most remote and atmospheric in Africa. Due to its unique location it is frequently visited by gorilla families and is the perfect base for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to track mountain gorillas.

Day 6-8: Virunga Lodge, Volcanoes National Park

Travel to Rwanda’s spectacular Virunga Lodge the sprawls across a 2,175m hilltop overlooking Lakes Burera and Ruhondo to the southeast. The main reason to visit this eco-friendly lodge is for the gorillas. Situated just an hour away from the Volcanoes National Park entrance where all gorilla tracking activities leave from guests are woken at 5am for the journey. Once there you will be in the capable hands of trained guides who will lead you out into the jungle in search of a gorilla family.

Day 8: Kigali

After an early breakfast you will go in search of the endangered golden monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park. Afterwards, you’ll depart for Kigali and your flight home.
