Saadani River Lodge is Sanctuary’s new river retreat, hidden within the trees on the banks of the Wami River, the perfect spot to see wildlife whilst indulging in a leisurely meal at the lodge.
The 18 stilted suites of Sanctuary Saadani River Lodge are the epitome of ‘luxury, naturally’, built for rest and relaxation on the southern shore of the Wami River close to the Saadani National Park. The guest tree houses blend into the natural scenery on their stilts with traditional thatched roofs.
In addition, for the ultimate secluded escape, River Lodge’s Wami Suite is a private villa with its own infinity pool, two bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room and dining room. The lodge offers guests a range of activities including game drives and river excursions. The in-house spa provides indulgent massages to enjoy between activities.
The open air kitchen is at the heart of the lodge, where guests can delve into mouth watering meals. Breakfast includes a full English to continental and fruit and lunch and dinner is a three course affair from an a la carte menu, served in the main area or outside on the deck under the stars.
Just a 25 minute flight from Dar es Salaam, guests arrive at the Saadani airstrip with only a 45 minute transfer before settling in to the gorgeous surroundings of the Saadani River Lodge. Visitors can also travel by road from Dar es Salaam – 4 hours via Chalinze or 3 hours via Bagamoyo.
