This city is the mining camp that grew into Africa's dynamic and vibrant city of Gold. Experience the old and new, the wealth and poverty from different points whilst you hear the story of the largest gold field in the world. One of the places of interest that you will be visiting on a typical tour are the old city with mining houses. This area is mostly composed of old "matchbox" houses, or four-room houses built by the government, that were built to provide cheap accommodation for black workers during apartheid. More places you will visit include Hillbrow, the inner city residential neighbourhood of Johannesburg, the Supreme Court, Braamfontein, Constitutional Hill,  Rosebank and Sandton and a visit Mandela's new home in the plush Suburb of Houghton.
