Luxury Safari

Where to visit for a Luxury Safari

Out in the middle of the bushveld and in the far reaches of Africa’s savannah, one would think an African safari meant roughing it, right? Wrong. At Rhino Africa, we aren’t only your safari experts, but your luxury safari experts. We like to do things in style, from travelling and exploring to lodging. Luxury isn’t only reserved for cities and island holidays anymore. With us, you can even camp in 5-star style and avoid pesky traffic and unknown roads with the oh-so-convenient (and cool) fly-in safari option.

Popular safari destinations for Luxury Safaris

Kruger National Park:

The Kruger National is big, and when we say big, we mean really big. To put it into perspective, the reserve is roughly the same size as Wales. With so much land, it's no surprise that there are plenty of luxurious hotels and lodges to choose from. One of our favourites includes the Narina and Tinga lodges (offering a starry sleep-out option without skimping on impeccable service).

Sabi Sand:

This reserve is where the private safari was born. The Sabi Sand shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park as well as its game, from the Big 5 to its 500 different bird species. Sabi Sand is also home to some of South Africa’s most iconic lodges, so much so that the only disappointment you’ll experience is going home, and we haven't even mentioned the perks, yet! In this reserve there are limited vehicle numbers (ensuring a more intimate safari), off-roading is permitted in pursuit of wildlife, as are night drives.

Londolozi:

Fine décor, unsurpassed service, and immaculate taste are only the beginning of Londolozi's attractions. Londolozi Private Game Reserve enjoys exclusive access to large sections of land, open game-viewing vehicles, off-road tracking, night drives and daily bush walks. These outings are enhanced by a skilled conservation team, highly trained game rangers and some of the country's best trackers. The end result is a safari experience in a class of its own.

Chitwa Chitwa:

Found in the northern Sabi Sand Region, adjacent to the Kruger National Park, Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge is a sensory delight in every respect - from the bold Afro-European design to the tantalising fusion of local and Mediterranean cuisine. The bar and lounge area overlooking a waterhole is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the genuine warmth of the Chitwa Chitwa family while its sumptuous accommodation options will make it hard for any person to get out of bed and seize the day.

Lion Sands:

A luxurious extra that is sure to kick your ultimate safari experience up a notch is a night out in one of Lion Sands' treehouses - a far cry from that childhood construction you might have played hideaway in. With a million stars lighting up the African sky above you, wildlife all around, all the comforts of a five-star safari lodge, and a candlelit picnic dinner, guests are sure to have a perfect stay. Lion Sands is divided into two separate settings - the exclusive Sabi Sand and Private Concessions, both offering luxurious accommodation. Why not stay in one of their exclusive lodges, from 1933 and Lion Sands River Lodge to their Lion Sands Ivory Lodge

Ulusaba:

Also known as Richard Branson’s 'little piece of Kruger', Ulusaba Private Game Reserve offers a bespoke safari experience with no expense having been spared in the creation of this African safari wonderland.  The lodges are furnished with lavish Aroma Boma spas, a bush observatory ideal for marvelling at the overhanging night sky, a well-stocked wine cellar, and fully-equipped gym and tennis court.

Botswana:

Home to some of the most varied landscapes on the continent as well as huge numbers of wildlife, Botswana is any nature lover's dream. With the winding waterways of the Okavango Delta, the flat white sand of the Makgadikgadi Pans, the burnt orange sand dunes and rolling grasslands of The Kalahari Desert, the unbelievable groups of elephants at Chobe National Park (and all the wildlife in between), Botswana is bound to capture your heart. That being said, this country's borders do not only hide spectacular scenery and majestic animals but a vast selection of accommodation options, too. Whether you're in search of five-star luxury or more affordable comfort, you're sure to find something that suits your needs at all of Botswana's top destinations.
