Bordering volcanoes with Le Bambou

Near the entrance gate and headquarters of Volcanoes National Park — home of the endangered mountain gorilla and five of eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountain chain — is Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge. This is the perfect springboard and base for active guests who want to explore the park and all that the surrounding area has to offer.

Having garnered international fame thanks to Dian Fossey, who performed a large amount of her research in the park, Volcanoes National Park has been drawing intrepid travellers, nature lovers, and hiking enthusiasts for decades. There are several trails available in the park and plenty of wildlife to see, while outside visitors can enjoy cave explorations, market tours, community village visits, and excursions to Twin Lakes.

Le Bambou’s 23 self-contained cottages boast lovely views of the gardens or surrounding landscape and have been built in a way that is environmentally friendly and does not disturb the habitat it calls home. Meals and drinks are available onsite along with Wi-Fi, parking, room service, and cable TV.
