Hippo Point

This is England in Kenya

Hippo Point is a magical and unique retreat set on the idyllic shores of Kenya’s Lake Naivasha in a private wildlife sanctuary within the Rift Valley. Here you'll find over 500 species of bird and some 1100 animals. Hippo Point features two properties - the 1930’s Manor House and Dodo's Eccentric Tower, both set within the lakeside woodland.

The Manor House is a Tudor style house, built in 1933 and extensively restored in 1998. Its gabled roofs and elegant rooms filled with antiques exude the colonial English nature of the building, as do the English country-style gardens. The Manor House can accommodate up to 16 guests in eight double en-suite bedrooms, each individually designed. There is a swimming pool, dining room, sitting room and Spa.

At eight stories high, Dodo’s Tower offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding woodland. It is built almost entirely of wood and has four en-suite bedrooms, a spacious sitting room with a balcony, a writing room and meditation room.

There is plenty to do here - think guided walks, estate game drives, mountain biking, bird watching and boat trips., as well as other activities in the region, such as visits to nearby Lake Nakuru to see flamingos, local game parks and Hell’s Gate National Park, with its canyons, hot springs and wildlife.

It's the perfect place to go for something different, something luxurious and something in the middle of the bustling wilderness.
