Sanctuary Zebra Plains is a unique walking safari camp in Zambia that lets you explore the pristine and unspoilt wilderness of South Luangwa. You will have experienced guides looking after you as you experience Africa staying in luxurious classic canvas tents. It was in South Luangwa that "walking safaris" first arose. Here you will get to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the wild.
Sanctuary Zebra Plains is situated on a sand bank where the Luangwa and Chibembe Rivers meet. In the wilderness that surrounds the camp live large populations of zebra, elephant, buffalo, crocodile and puku, as well as various endemic species and over 400 bird species. With such a diversity of habitats here you will be sure to enjoy some excellent sights while you walk, with terrain that is ideal for exploring and has plenty of shade and long sweeping views.
This luxury safari camp has just four traditional tents and accommodates a maximum of six guests. All tents are kitted out with beds, furniture, mosquito nets, en suite facilities, flush toilets and al fresco showers. Dine in the mess tent with great gourmet meals. There is also a small library and bar area.
Being a seasonal camp, it operates from June to October each year. It has been designed to leave the lowest possible carbon footprint and is packed up completely each year with no trace that it was ever there between seasons.
