Found in the shade of lush primeval forest trees in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge’s history is as prolific as the surrounding plains. Once a presidential retreat, this family-friendly safari lodge now showcases all the riches that this densely populated wildlife sanctuary has to offer.
South Luangwa pioneered the walking safari and at Chichele Presidential Lodge they are conducted by professional guides and armed scouts. Game drives are thrilling, with sightings of the elusive leopard often on the cards as well as plains game such as zebra and antelope. Night game drives unveil the park’s nocturnal animals, including hyenas and bush babies.
The suites at Chichele are elegantly decorated in neutral tones and the beds are dressed with crisp white linens. When not exploring the park on foot or by 4X4, enjoy high tea and sundowners at the lodge and bush lunches under African skies. Chichele is easily reached from Mfuwe airport after a two-hour road transfer, half of which holds the possibility of game sightings.
