Stay on the banks of the Zambezi near Victoria Falls before making your way to not one, but two different parts of the Okavango Delta.

Day 1-3: Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma Lodge, Zambia

Named after David Livingstone’s faithful friends, Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma consists of a five-star lodge and two spacious cottages, all enjoying enchanting river bank settings in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. The lodge is located on a bend in the Zambezi River, 12km upstream from Victoria Falls and 15km from the town of Livingstone. 

In Sussi Lodge, accommodation consists of 12 Luxury Treehouses, built into the living canopy of giant ebony trees. Chuma House comprises two well-appointed cottages, each with two en suite bedrooms, and private chef and guide. All units are en suite with air conditioning and decks overlooking the Zambezi. The main lodge building features a raised bar/lounge deck, open-air dining area, and refreshing swimming pool. A Spa room has been constructed on stilts on the riverbank, and a treatment here is a unique experience.

Sussi & Chuma Lodge include the following in their rates:  all meals, all drinks (except premium brands), game drives in the National Park, guided tours of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, local school and village tours, walking safaris, a sundowner cruise, fishing and canoeing excursions, as well as return transfers from Livingstone Airport. 

Day 3-5: Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, Botswana

Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is located just outside the village of Kasane, near Chobe National Park. The lodge has become well-known for its delectable cuisine, and its hilltop position allows guest to enjoy the uninterrupted panoramic view of the Chobe river and its floodplains.

Open-vehicle, guided game drives in Chobe National Park bring you to the heart of Africa's largest concentration of elephants and other wildlife. Your guide will also offer you the opportunity for a wondrous water sundowner safari on specially adapted motorboats. Enjoy an eclectic fusion of Western and African meals, lovingly prepared by the dedicated culinary staff and complemented by vintage wines from the cellar. High tea, always a treat, is served on the lawns under the shady trees.

The lodge has 14 luxury thatched Cottages and 1 Honeymoon Suite. All rooms have sunken hand-crafted baths, indoor and outdoor showers, and terraces overlooking the river. The Honeymoon Suite also features a plunge pool, a deck area for romantic dinners, and a private vehicle and guide for all game-viewing activities. Other facilities include a library, curio shop, split-level swimming pool, and a full spa, complete with treetop treatment room!

Day 5-7: Sanctuary Stanleys Camp, Botswana

On a private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp is sheltered among a forest of ebony and sausage trees. Animal activity is plentiful in this region of the Okavango Delta, with every change in season bringing different wildlife to the area. This camp also offers a unique opportunity to meet and interact with a trio of adopted semi-habituated elephants.

The many wild creatures inhabiting this land can be discovered in a multitude of ways. There are the game drives, conducted in open 4x4 vehicles when the area’s water level permits it and by mokoro or motorised boat when it does not. Walking safaris are also offered, with guides eager to share their knowledge of local animals and how to track them.

8 Canvas Tents make up the accommodation on offer at Stanley’s Camp. Each is delicately decorated to provide a luxurious yet understated elegance: antique furniture, oriental carpets, and hand-crafted beds draped in fine linen. The tents all feature en suite bathrooms and private balconies complete with inviting hammocks.
