Day 1 - 3: Colona Castle, Cape Town
From Colona Castle luxury boutique hotel, gracing the mountainside above Lakeside along the coast of False Bay, the view is sublime. Offering seclusion from the city hustle but proximity to the attractions in and around Cape Town, this is a truly magical retreat from which to explore.
Embrace the beautiful outdoors with scenic hikes, a sunset horse ride or from a boat cruise at sea. An eco-tour in False Bay is complete with the spectacle of a breaching great white shark. Otherwise, visit the galleries and sites of Cape Town, embark on a cultural tour, or enjoy a spot of wine tasting. Golfers have a choice of 4 world-class courses just minutes away.
Every room is a unique wonder, furnished with prized antiques and objet d’art and inclusive of all creature comforts. Categories include 2 Full Luxury Suites, 3 Executive Suites and 3 Superior Bedrooms. In-room spa treatments or the services of a private butler are available on request. Gorgeous open-hearth log fires infuse the lounge with cosy romance while well-balanced dishes comprising the Cape’s finest organic ingredients are served in the dining hall.
Includes Bed & Breakfast
Day 4 - 6: Kichaka Private Game Lodge, Garden Route
Situated on a small hill, with only the apexes of the thatched roofs visible among the trees, Kichaka Lodge looks out over a hippo dam in the Kichaka Private Game Reserve in South Africa's temperate Eastern Cape. This lodge is the perfect fusion of intimate accommodation and an authentic and personalised safari experience.
The reserve is teeming with the likes of rhino, cheetah, lion, elephant, and buffalo - which can be seen on daily game drives and bush walks. The Eastern Cape is quickly becoming popular for malaria-free big-game safaris. The temperate climate and gently undulating hills lend themselves to game-viewing – fewer trees, no malaria, and better vantage points.
10 Suites dot the hillside and are appointed with luxury and amenities: full ensuite bathroom, private deck, under-floor heating, air conditioning, heated plunge pool, lounge, mini-bar, internet access, and 24-hour room service. If that all sounds too far-removed from the virgin bush that rolls around outside, fear not for the floor-to-ceiling sliding doors open directly onto the deck and the bush.
