Kwihala Camp is located in the vast Ruaha National Park in Tanzania, in close proximity to the Mwagusi River - an area famous for its rich wildlife. Kwihala means "bush" and true to its name, Kwihala Camp is the most remote property under the Asilia Group. The most attractive feature of the Kwihala Camp is that it enables you to have an authentic wildlife experience without sacrificing on any comfort. Kwihala Camp can be enjoyed in two different ways. There are 2 accomodation options available to guests; one can choose to stay at the permanent tent structures or use the mobile tents for a more intimate bush experience. The mobile tents are perfect for those who want to be closer to nature and explore the remote areas of the Ruaha National Park. With six tents set deep in the bush, guests are guaranteed exclusivity - for those who are not enamored with the idea of camping, rest assured that these are no ordinary tents. Each of the luxury tents has a covered veranda area with an en suite bathroom. The camp is perfect for families who want to experience the bush together (children over six years old are welcome).
Activities include day and night game drives and walking safaris. If you want to see lions then Kwihala Camp is the right place to be because it is situated inside Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s largest national park and home to over 10% of the world's lion population. The park also boasts the world's third largest wild dog population. Kwihala Camp supports responsible tourism and the ideals of Kwihala Camp ensure that the beauty of the valley will remain the same for many generations to come because the camp operates on solar power and uses recycled rain water. The camp supports the Ruaha Carnivore Project which researches methods to conserve wild animals and educates local communities about conservation.
