– one of the few malaria-free reserves in Southern Africa – this camp offers access to diverse mix of fauna and flora to observe and capture on camera.
Exploring the reserve can be done in two ways: by vehicle or on foot. In both cases, expert rangers will accompany you through this natural paradise, imparting valuable knowledge and experience. Expect to see many marvellous creatures, such as lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, and the black and white rhino.
Accommodation at Thakadu River Camp consists of 12 Tented Suites, elegantly decorated in a fusion of African and Asian influences. Each features a private viewing deck, an indoor bath and shower, air conditioning, coffee-making facilities and plug points. Wondering around the lodge, you will find an inviting swimming pool and an even more inviting bar area overlooking the river.

Thakadu River Camp is approximately 4 hours drive from Johannesburg International Airport. Alternatively, daily scheduled flights are operated from Johannesburg International Airport to the Madikwe Airstrip. Private air-charters are organised on request.
