From its perch on a cliff-face overlooking the African veld, Phinda Rock Lodge allows guests to experience the very best of both Maputaland’s bush and its beach. Whether it’s close encounters of the safari kind or swimming with the turtles and whale sharks in the Indian Ocean, &Beyond Phinda Rock Lodge promises only the best in outdoor adventures.
The 23,000-hectare &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve is regarded as an exemplary model of conservation, community upliftment, and eco-tourism done right. The once-degraded farmland has been lovingly restored to its former pristine glory, and herds of game (particularly cheetah, nyala antelope, and the endangered black rhino) have been relocated here en masse. Guests can experience Phinda’s wildlife on walking safaris, cruises, as well as day and night game drives.
Accommodation consists of 6 Luxury Suites, each with its own private plunge pool and viewing deck. Three of the Suites come with outdoor showers. The sumptuous Pan-African cuisine is served at the lodge’s main viewing deck which boasts stunning views of the horizon, the bush’s rich waterholes, and the shrubby slopes of Leopard Rock.
