The Forum Homini Boutique Hotel is more than accommodation, it is an experience and one not to be missed. A visionary design coupled with a totally unique setting put this top-class hotel in a league of its own. Built in a private game reserve, The Cradle of Humankind, one of the world's most famous Heritage Sites. While staying here in ultra-luxurious suites you will experience the story of the evolution of man in a way that is both fascinating and fun.
All the rooms are set back into the landscape with a living roof of African veldt. They are almost cave-like with a subterranean design, filled with the warm natural light of the highveld that streams in through the sheer expanses of glass that front the rooms. The same glass allows guests to look out over the valley and surrounding landscape which is achingly beautiful in the light of the afternoon sun. Each room has its own lounge area, his and hers outside showers, a large oval bath with a superb view, lights shaped like stalactites and a warming fireplace.
Research has been carried out at 13 fossil sites in the Cradle Humankind. At least 7 of the 13 sites have yielded hominid remains. In fact, together these caves sites have produced over 950 hominid fossil specimens, so that they represent one of the world’s richest concentrations of fossil hominid-bearing sites. The scientific value of this area lies in the fact that these sites provide us with a window into the past, to a time when our earliest ancestors and their relatives were evolving and changing.
