Islands of paradise

Though the Seychelles comprises 115 islands, not all are habitable and some are not open to foreigners. Most visitors choose to stay on one of three islands. Mahe Island is the main island that plays home to the capital Victoria and offers some top-class five-star resorts. Praslin Island is home to the world-famous Vallee de Mai and the unique Coco-de-Mer palm while La Digue Island is smaller and more remote. And if you want an exclusive island escape, then North Island and Desroches Island are home to private resorts!

The main island, Mahé hosts most of the country’s 84,000 people and there are a number of secluded retreats spread along the coastline. It is worth exploring Victoria, one of the world's smallest and most relaxed capital cities, and experiencing the colourful kaleidoscope of life on the Seychelles.

Praslin, the second most prominent island on the Seychelles, offers many exclusive retreats and larger resorts. The Vallee de Mai region was once referred to as the Garden of Eden - and we think it is best you decide whether it lives up to its name. It certainly exudes a heavenly feel with the indigenous Coco-de-Mer palm (unique to the Seychelles) shading luxury lodges on untouched beaches.

La Digue is a smaller and more remote getaway with fewer tourists and a small selection of lodges. People will pass you by on ox-carts and bicycles and soon enough you will adapt to the slow pace of life. It's the island getaway you have dreamed of!
