Onguma Etosha Aoba:
Aoba is built from the dreams of George Zimmerman and his wife Uli. Watching the sun set over Fischers Pan in Etosha, 1993, the first whispers of the lodge were spoken. At that point, they decided to name their lodge Aoba, meaning ‘when the sun goes down’ in the San (or Bushman) language.
Aoba consists of four free standing Luxury Heritage Bungalows, 3 Bush Suites which have two rooms and an inter-leading bathroom allowing four adults to share and 3 new Explorer Bungalows boasting privacy and intimacy for each guest.
All bungalows feature a private terrace to enjoy the outdoors, air-conditioning and heating fans in winter. At the lodge guests can relax in the swimming pool or enjoy a cocktail at the thatched bar and even access the outside world via free Wi-Fi. Meals are accompanied by a view of the waterhole and its wildlife and most dinners are enjoyed under the stars complete with a tour of the wine cellar!
Onguma Game Reserve:
Onguma Game Reserve is one of Namibia’s best kept secrets just outside the North-Eastern border of Etosha allowing guests easy access to the National Park while enjoying the luxury of a Private Game Reserve. Covering an area of 34,000ha a variety of ecosystems attract over thirty different animal species including an abundance of game, the rare black rhino and, if you’re lucky, the occasional predator may cross your path too. Onguma is also a bird watchers paradise in the summer months so remember to bring those binoculars!
