Halali Camp

Down by the waterhole

In an otherwise flat landscape, Halali Camp is perched at the foot of a dolomite hill, halfway between Namutoni and Okaukeujo in Etosha National Park. Its dense vegetation attracts leopard, rhino, and elephant, while its waterhole is a favourite among wildlife seeking to quench their thirst.

A short walk will bring you to the camp’s floodlit waterhole. The elevated deck is an ideal vantage point from which to watch the animals drink and the setting makes for excellent photo opportunities. The quietness of the bush shrouds the area where the only sounds come from nature – the snort of a rhino, or an elephant defiantly flapping its ears. The rest of Etosha’s wildlife, as well as its saltpan, can be found just outside the camp’s gate.

Guests have the choice of staying in the Bush Chalets, the Double Rooms, or simply roughing-it in a tent. All rooms come complete with an en suite bathroom, with the larger chalets having the added benefit of a kitchen and lounge area. The large, open-plan restaurant serves buffet-style meals, with a bar on the side for fine wines.
