Dolomite Camp

From Dolomite Camp’s dreamy heights above Etosha

Once a huge lake some several million years ago, the Etosha Pan today is a blinding white expanse of over 4,800km²--visible even from space. Encompassed by Etosha National Park and boasting all manner of wildlife from migratory flamingos to 4 of the Big 5, this is undeniably one of Namibia’s must-see destinations. Overlooking the game-dotted plains of Etosha is Dolomite Camp—an elevated safari haven for those enjoying the park.

Reaching an impressive 130km in length and 50km in width in some parts, the Etosha Pan covers little under a quarter of the park. Its name translates to ‘great white place’, which, in the rainy season, is streaked pink thanks to the presence of migratory flamingos. Other wildlife in the park includes hartebeest, black-faced impala, spotted hyena, and giraffe along with a plethora of bird species.

Dolomite Camp consists of 18 Bush Chalets and 2 Deluxe Chalets facing East or West to ensure magical sunset or sunrise vistas. Each one comes complete with mosquito nets, safes, desks, bathroom essentials, tea/coffee-stations, and a lounge area, while some of the chalets have private plunge pools.

  • Chalets face east and west, ensuring magnificent sunrises or sunsets for all guests
  • Onsite amenities include a rim-flow pool, curio shop, game-viewing deck, bar, secure parking, and 1 Universal Access chalet
  • Camp overlooks the Etosha plains and a waterhole
  • One of Namibia’s ‘must-see’ destinations
  • Some chalets come with their own private plunge pools
