Mother Nature invites you home

Etendeka Mountain Camp is intent on bringing people closer to nature, without compromising on comfort. In the foothills of the Grootberg massif in northern Namibia, the camp lies amongst the prehistoric Etendeka lava flows that shelter multitudes of spectacular wildlife – an endless crystal-laced terrain of rugged Africa waiting to be explored.

This untouched Damaraland bears ancient basalt that has been slowly eroded over millennia, leaving scattered boulders lying upon dramatic flat-topped mountains. This seemingly unforgiving landscape actually harbours diverse plant and animal species, such as the desert elephant, black rhino, cheetah, oryx, African wildcat, aardwolf, lion and Hartmann’s mountain zebra. Time with these extraordinary creatures can be shared on foot or via 4x4 vehicles while at night take turns with the telescope to gaze upon distant stars and other celestial wonders.

The eco-friendly Etendeka Mountain Camp and its 10 Meru Tents and main dining tent are equipped with solar power throughout. The tents have en-suite bathrooms and private patio areas offering awe-inspiring views of Etendeka’s natural splendour. Banquet-style dinners situate you under the stars at a long table in the open-air dining room.
