The Impalila Island Lodge is hidden right at the tip of Namibia’s Caprivi Strip and practically sits on the confluence of the mighty Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. It’s strange to think that a lodge situated at the meeting place of four countries (Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana) can guarantee you a secluded getaway - but at Impalila, that’s exactly what you’ll get.
The Chobe and Zambezi Rivers join forces to offer guests water activities aplenty. Choose from sunset cruises and mokoro safaris to swimming and fly-fishing. Walking safaris, bird-watching, cultural visits, and scenic flights are only some of the activities available on dry land. Plus: if you want to venture further off the island, day trips to Victoria Falls can also be arranged.
The lodge has 16 En-Suite Cabins, each with its own private balcony and tasteful Afro-chic finishings. The Cabins are huddled around a main living area that sits perched on a wooden deck that has been built around an old baobab tree. The living area includes a spacious lounge and bar where fine wines and fresh dishes are served daily.
