Lugenda Wilderness Camp is an exclusive offering in the Niassa Reserve - which covers an area of 42 000 square km, twice the size of the Kruger National Park. But unlike the Kruger there is very little development here and you pretty much have this pristine reserve to yourself. The camp is located on the banks of the Lugenda River and offer panoramic views over the region.
The camp takes a maximum of 16 guests so you really can escape the crowds with eight luxury tents nestled beneath towering fig trees, each with a private patio and well-appointed en-suite bathrooms. Watch out for elephants who tend to visit from time to time! There is a lovely thatched guest area to relax, wine and dine and read books on the region. And the swimming pool sparkles just metres away from the Lugenda River!
Lugenda Wilderness Camp is really the only top-class accommodation in the Niassa Reserve and as such it offers an exclusive safari. Not many people head to this part of the world so you have the wild animals and African bush all to yourself. Enjoy game drives and bush walks with an experienced ranger - and take a trip down the Lugenda River. The game viewing is superb and this really is the wildest part of Africa!
