Pumulani Lake Lodge is an exclusive establishment set on the Nankumba Peninsula on the western shores of Lake Malawi. It opened in July 2008, and is situated within Lake Malawi National Park, the world's first freshwater marine reserve and a haven for tropical fish. The lodge is raised on a hill, with superlative vistas, best enjoyed from the living and dining area. Catch a tan beside the infinity pool, stroll along the sandy beach or take to the lake on a kayak or wakeboard. Waterskiing, diving, snorkelling, fishing and birdwatching are all also offered.
Accommodation comes in the form of ten beach villas nestled on the hillside that rolls down to the water. Each vila is individually decorated with a large bedroom, a spacious living area and a private deck that overlooks the glistening lake below. There are 4 villas with twin beds and 4 doubles which are ideal for couples. Larger groups can stay in the family villa which can sleep up to 5, and the honeymoon chalet promises a spell of romance in the most private and picturesque of settings.
Pumulani means “rest well” in Chichewa and this beach resort offers an ideal retreat for those seeking some time away from the stresses of the modern world. The beach is all yours, as are the crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi where you can enjoy kayaking, snorkelling, sailing and bird watching. Spot hundreds of colourful fish in the Lake Malawi National Park, and enjoy a sunset cruise with your loved one on the traditional 40ft wooden dhow. Relax on your private deck with stunning views over the water and toast the end of another day at Pumulani Lake Lodge.
