Madagascar Accommodation

Where to stay in Madagascar

Madagascar is an up and coming destination and does not have a plethora of luxury accommodation as yet. We have endeavoured to find the most exclusive locations on the island for your dream holiday, doing our best to choose only 4 and 5-star properties. There are certainly some spectacular resorts which combine silver service and refined luxury with a selection of stunning settings.

Most travellers will start and finish their trip in Antananarivo, a derelict yet delightful city, which houses a few top-class hotels. The Colbert Hotel is one of Antananarivo's most sought-after hotels nestled on the hillside in the heart of the Upper Town. Previously the Madagascar Hilton, Hotel Carlton has maintained the same high standards with 171 rooms and suites with beautiful views of Lake Anosy, an excellent business centre, fitness centre, jacuzzi and much more!

After a day in the capital city, it's beach time so most people head north to Nosy Be with its collection of islands offering a paradise escape! Hotel Tsarabanjina is an exclusive hotel occupying the breathtaking and private Tsarabanjina island, with lazy hammocks, silky white sand and crystal clear water with turtles, fish and rays! Anjajavy Hotel is a Garden of Eden with lemurs, sifakas and chameleons in its oasis-like gardens and over 1,800 floral species in the reserve!

The East is also an excellent seaside destination with the fabulous Ile Sainte Marie and the Mantadia National Park is the best place to see lemurs in their natural habitat. Princess Bora Hotel knows how to please its visitors and is certainly the most luxurious hotel on this side of Madagascar.

Heading South, there are lodges on the coast or near Parc National de l’Isalo. Mandrare River Camp is one of the most exclusive, a seasonal camp in an absolutely stunning location alongside the Mandrare River, in the heart of a wildlife haven and miles from civilisation.

NB: We have visited these lodges before and can help plan your holiday here.Get free, no-obligation advice
