The following two safari options follow the same route and combine intriguing cultures, beautiful landscapes and an excellent opportunity for spotting the Big-5. Day 1: Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to the Safari Park Hotel, an African-theme resort providing deluxe accommodation in 64 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and indigenous forest. Spend the afternoon at leisure and enjoy a great night at the Safari Park Hotel, only 10km from the city centre and 20km from the international airport.

Day 2-3: Mara Sopa Lodge, Masai Mara National Reserve

Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you'll travel towards Kenya's fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment. You'll pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the Valley to Narok, and then travel across acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Masai Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the Mara Sopa Lodge, in the Oloolaimutia Valley, as the sun sets.

The next day, enjoy spectacular early morning and afternoon game drives and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru Lodge, Lake Nakuru

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, you'll travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. You'll then travel across the vast plains of the Rift Valley, and up the Mau Escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru Lodge for lunch. After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National park before continuing to Lake Nakuru Lodge for the night, in the heart of one of Kenya's most densely populated wetland National Parks, two hours' drive from Nairobi.

Day 5-6: Amboseli Sopa Lodge, Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast you will leave Rift Valley behind, you continue towards Nairobi and collect picnic lunch from Nairobi and then head south towards Amboseli. Enjoy a picnic lunch with an afternoon game drive in the park enroute to the Amboseli Sopa Lodge, on 200 acres of private land on the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. In the morning, you will depart after a sumptuous breakfast for a full day game drive, enjoy a hot picnic lunch at a picnic site returning to the lodge later in the day

Day 7: Lake Manyara Serena, Lake Manyara, Tanzania

After breakfast, you continue the journey to the Tanzania border post and then on to Arusha for lunch. After lunch, drive across the Masai Steppe to the Great Rift Valley. Here, your hotel, the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, is perched high on the rim overlooking the park and Great Rift Valley below. The bar and restaurant offer guests both indoor and outdoor seating at each meal, with sumptuous menus, buffets and barbecues, alongside authentic African dishes.

Day 8-9: Serengeti Sopa Lodge, Serengeti National Park

After breakfast enter your safari vehicle and spend the morning exploring and driving through Lake Manyara National Park. About midday return to the lodge for lunch and then depart for Serengeti National Park with some game viewing en route arriving at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge, in the Nyarboro Hills in the south west of the Serengeti National Park, as the sun begins to set. Next day, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti National Park, exploring this famous park and all that it has to offer. You'll spend another night here.

Day 10-11: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater National Park

After breakfast you depart for Ngorongoro, viewing game across the Serengeti plains, stopping at Olduvai Gorge en route. After a picnic lunch continue towards the crater with a visit to a Masai Village. In the afternoon continue to the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater for dinner and an overnight stay. Enjoy a safari within five minutes of leaving the lodge, as the park gate is very close.

The next day, a highlight awaits you as you depart to explore what is the world’s largest so-called natural wildlife zoo. After breakfast, descend through early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the Ngorongoro Crater, the World’s largest intact volcanic caldera, and enjoy a picnic lunch. You return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Tarangire Sopa Lodge, Tarangire National Park

Departing Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast, you head south east to Lake Manyara, Mto wa Mbu village and Tarangire beyond. Back at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge, have lunch and perhaps a swim, and spend the remainder of the afternoon on a game drive. The park is recognised as one of the best parks on the northern circuit for elephant viewing during the dry season and Tarangire Sopa is ideally placed to experience this.

Day 13: Nairobi

Depart Tarangire after breakfast and drive back to Arusha arriving in time for lunch. After lunch you continue the journey by road to Nairobi arriving in Nairobi late afternoon and proceed for dinner in Nairobi city centre before drop off at JKIA airport or City Centre Hotel.
