Hidden between mopane woodlands, open grassland and gently flowing waterways, Khwai Tented Camp’s location in a community-run concession in the [~4208~] gives it a distinct advantage over lodgings outside the concession. Enjoy night drives and walking safaris, which are not permitted in the main reserve or national park but promise better chances to sight elusive Okavango Delta inhabitants.
The concession attracts vast amounts of wildlife thanks to its lagoon which feeds into the Khwai River. Although this tract of land is quite small by national park standards, it is incredibly diverse. Open savannahs morph into dense mopane woodlands hiding wild dog and leopard, while the waterways attract all manner of wildlife, including nearly 500 species of bird.
Khwai Tented Camp’s lodgings are temporary and thus ensure minimal environmental impact on the land. Each Tent has an en suite bathroom and rests on the banks of a lagoon. All proceeds from the camp go to the local community and focus on upliftment of local inhabitants.
