The remote northern reaches of the Okavango Delta holds Duba Plains, an intimate camp set in among open game-rich grasslands and seasonal floodplains. Only accessible by light aircraft, the camp is renowned for its resident lion prides and their unending battles with the thousands of buffalo that roam the area.
These large lions are legendary for hunting in broad daylight and for swimming in the permanent channels running between the islands that dot the landscape. The lions are not the only resident wildlife here and guests can embark on day and night game drives and motorboat trips in search of red lechwe, impala, kudu, tsessebe and large elephant herds. With no required routine, guests can explore the area at their own pace.
Large mangosteen and fig trees provide shade for the 6 traditional Meru-style Canvas Tents which look out over the vast floodplains. High ceilings with fans and large windows in the Tents provide respite from the heat, while a private balcony allows guests to spy the resident wildlife. An inviting sitting area with a fireplace is a cosy place to spend the evening.
