In the heart of the Chobe, sometimes referred to as the elephant capital of the world, Belmond Savute Elephant Camp can be found perched on the former banks of the ephemeral Savute Channel. This camp offers a spectacular bird's-eye view of elephant in their natural habitat, with an adjacent waterhole just metres away from the camp’s main building.
The Savute Channel’s landscape and wildlife are forever influenced by the changing of seasons, with each approaching season breathing new life into the surrounding wilderness. The nearby Gubatsa Hills are known for being a refuge to leopard and klipspringer, as well as the home to some truly remarkable rock paintings.
