Meet Gillian Meyer

Today we chat to travel consultant, Gillian. Even though she has travelled all over the world she still enjoys exploring the city of Cape Town in her spare time. Find out more about her in our Meet The Team section online.

1. What do you love most about your job? Meeting clients on the phone or in person is like travelling around the world in one day.

2. What are your top 3 destinations you have visited in Africa? Victoria Falls, Botswana and the Kruger National Park.

3. What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten on your travels? Crocodile steaks in Victoria Falls

4. What is your most memorable safari moment? A unexpected lion kill at Kwandwe Game Reserve on the Garden Route.

5. What is the one thing you have to take with you on every trip? My iPod and a good pair of comfortable shoes.

6. Where in the world do you still want to travel to? I’ve seen quite a bit of Europe so the USA would definitely be a wonderful new adventure.

7. If you could go on a dream safari with anyone at all, who would it be and why? (Fictional/Real; Dead/Alive) Jamie Foxx would be a blast!

8. What is your favourite (city/beach) hotel that you always recommend to clients travelling to Africa? At the moment, MannaBay – their attention to detail and personal service  really makes the hotel feel like a luxurious home away from home.

9. What are your top 3 favourite safari lodges that you always recommend to clients travelling to Africa? LondoloziNgala Safari Lodge or Ngala Tented Camp.

10. Where is your favourite place to eat in Cape Town? Bukhara Restaurant. I love Indian cuisine! They serve it with flair and the food is excellent.
